Would girls flirt with you even if they don't want to date you?

There's this co-worker of mine who constantly flirts with me; and I think she really likes me.

Problem is, she already has a boyfriend, which makes me confused because now I'm getting her flirtatious behaviour as just friendly with no "more than friends" possibility behind it.

Would girls really flirt alot (always smiles at, sings your name, winks, talks about "hooking up with eachother") even if they don't think of you as more than a friend?

Would girls flirt with you even if they don't want to date you?
^Some women as well as men seem to flirt all the time, it's in their nature and they mean nothing buy it.

The fact she talks about hooking up might be more, be careful, the fact that she has a boyfriend, might mean she just playing with you and she might or might not realize that she is sending mixed signals.

Maybe she's having problems with her boyfriend and looking for another, rebounds very rarely work, and the fact that you work together it can get really sticky, just keep being friends for now. Good luck.
Reply:Yes, it's called being flirty. It's fine when you are single, but when you are in a relationship it is wrong.
Reply:Laughing and smiling is ok. Some people, like myself, are naturally smiley. But winking? and saying "hooking up?" If she really liked you, she wouldn't be winking or saying let's hook up.

Sounds like she's being intentionally flirty and needs attention. But it also signals that maybe not all's right in her relationship either.
Reply:well i flirt with my coworker with the intention of hooking up lol, so no i do not flirt just for "fun" theres a reason behind it..but yess i know a lot of girls i work with especially my friends they all have boyfriends but flirt with other guys like crazyy!! so yea u do have some of those girls out there who do that..it means nothing to them..unfortunately
Reply:Yes, some girls flirt or have a flirtatious behavior without thinking of actually hooking up with the other person. I have found that women who have been sexually abused in their past sometimes (not all of them though!) exert this type of behavior as a defense mechanism. She may be joking around just for the fun of it or she may be serious. Don't actually act on it unless you know she is single.
Reply:Sometimes girls and guy who are in relationships still flirt just to keep in practice and give themselves a confidence boost. Yeah, it's wrong, but doesn't mean it doesn't happen. Bottom line, it's not necessarily true that your co-worker wants to hook up with you.
