I CANNOT FLIRT!! what is wrong with me????

i am 16. i can not flirt for my life. yesterday at basketball practice this guy at my school was practicing with us and he kept trying to flirt with me.i felt so awkward and didn't know what to say.i did respond by smiling or laughing or whatever b/c he was poking fun at me, but he later said "you need to talk more, you're too quiet".also, there is this guy who i really like and i would always catch him staring at me.i always ignore his glance b/c i feel so weird and do not know what to do and am scared to look at him.i'm pretty sure he has given up on me... these are just 2 of many examples of interactions with guys.i just feel so awkward with guys.even if i like them i still don't know how to act.i consider myself pretty but unappealing to guys b/c of this major flaw. can someone tell me if this improves with age or am i doomed?

yeah it can definitely be awkward sometimes, especially at your age. once you've had more experience with guys it probably won't be so hard anymore. just keep good eye contact and try to smile and say something cute back. i know it's hard but when he makes fun of you, make fun of him, and it'll be fun and hopefully you'll like it and it will come easier after a while!

Reply:It depends on the person you are. You need to start talking to guys more. Like, take a fake survey pointed toward guys and say it's for debate class or something. It gets you used to talking to them. Do the guy you like once you think you are confident enough.

t like ask me out i just freeze and say yes automaticaly... like i forgot there IS the word no out there. It's actually gotten me in a lot of embarrasing situations, boring double dates. I don't think your doomed because there is always going to be some one out there for you. as for me. i doubt it.
