Unaware that I flirt? Flirty by nature?

I'm totally flirty by nature...how can I stop flirting yet still be myself? I flirt/talk with single guys and totally avoid my personality show through when I talk to other guys (ie. talking straight-mannered)?

having male friends does not make you a flirt. they are completely different. i do not have many female friends because i hate girls. the majority of them are catty and play games, with men you don't have to worry about that so much. there is nothing wrong with preferring the company of men. ignore the girls and do what you want to do.

Find something you really like about that person, there hair, the way they act ect. and compliment them on it. make sure you find multiple things you like and compliment away. don't use stupid compliments like oh your eyes are pretty when there really not. make it sincere.

L- is for listen. People love when you listen to them, it shows that you are really interested in that person and really care what they are talking about. Besides the biggest aphrodisiac is listning.

I- is for interests. Find things you have in commen with that person, don't find to many it will just freak them out and make it like your stalking them just find a couple of things in commen. like what kinds of music you like, movies, ect.

R- is for responible. Don't lie, don't send mixed messages, be straight up. Guys don't know what girls like so don't try and confuse them more than what they already lie. This has happened to me SO MUCH.

I'll NEVER know the answer to this question. This question has ALWAYS been in my mind.

My guess is that they flirt to boost their ego, they flirt because they realize that they DO like you but are too scared to go after you, or they like you but find someone else or had someone else the entire time.

I think those are the best educated guesses I can make going through a lot of this myself.

Actually, the last part (they like you but find someone else or had someone else the entire time) can be true. It's happened to me. He had a girlfriend the entire time and eventually (years later) told me that he considered breaking up with her to be with me. And again, it happened with another guy.

Flirting is dangerous. I think it should only be done when you want to actually be with the person. Because a lot of the times, flirting can be hurtful in the end.

If he has any classes with you, a couple of quick, noticeable glances will help (but look away immediately after he turns his head towards you) grab his attention a little bit. Be partners with him (if you can) if your teacher wants the class to work on a cooperative assignment (i.e. - pick partners). Try to get near him or talk to him whenever you can, try and be with him to show him that you're interested in him.

If you see him in the hallways, say hi to him, even if that means going out of your way to get to him. Hopefully he'll notice this and take it into consideration.

Stop by his locker before, during, or afterschool (right afterschool usually works, since he should be by himself...unless he has a bunch of friends following him everywhere) just to say hi or start a quick conversation with a funny remark or something of that nature.

When you are able to talk to him, even if it's a brief conversation, remember some of the little things and bring it back up in a later conversation - it shows that you're definitely interested in him.

Eye contact and smiling/grinning or laughing while talking to him should send him a signal as well. For me, if a girl begins to smile a bit and keep eye contact (not in a freaky way...more like she's actually paying attention and actually interested in what I have to say), it's definitely a turn-on and good signal that she's interested.

All the little things will help. Just remember that these things take time and patience, so don't try and rush it, otherwise you may screw up. Eventually, he should open up a bit more and you can talk to him easily. It's always getting started that's the frustrating part, though.

The reason you're too shy to say anything is because you're feeling the pressure of putting on a performance that will get him interested. That's always fake and wont get you what you want. I would not think that excessive staring is appropriate because she might think you are judging her or just looking, however in moderation it can be charming and get her excited to have the attention. okay im 15 male and I don't know how to flirt and im shy! My friend and I were at a wrestling state tournament and wen we were at the motel we were by the pool then this hot chick walked past us and my friend said "hey she said hi then he asked if she wanted too come sit by us" she did then he flirted with her some and he kinda looked at me and was like come on join in. I couldnt even say 12 words too her cause im so shy towards girls and wanna break this and learn how too flirt.

i have always been shy towards females idk why. I can't even start up a decent conversation so please help me!

This is actually a common problem for most guys. They are shy towards girls, but waht they dont realize is most girls get intimidated by guys who come on really fast. A lot of girls like a shy guy, not a guy who comes on to them really fast and starts flirting right away. I'm not saying all girls feel this way but most do. I think what you need to do is get some advice.... Such as figuring out topics that are both gender related issues. So if you ask her a girl related subject she won't feel like she has to spill her feminine opinion and it might be personal. And if you want to join in and comment you don't look gay by answering to a female question. Something that is casual. Such as... favorite restaurant. Name a good retaurant until you have one in common. Then talk about favorite food there... why its your favorite. Keep it going. Girls don't want a guy who starts a conversation and can't keep it going, it leaves too many awkward moments in between and she might leave just to escape the total awkwardness. And about the whole flirting thing... if your new at it... Don't over due it. It coudl really scare her and make you think your inexperienced. Just play it cool and smile every once in a while when she's talking. Listen, be polite and don't stare at her boobs. Ahaha good luck! Hope it helped...
Reply:don't go straight to flirting if you don't know her! save that for a date or at a party. just let loose, and talk to her like you would anyone else, except pay her more attention and as time goes on compliment her a little more and more. girls don't like shy guys because that shows lack of confidence. if you do it once, you won't ever have a problem. one win gives you the confidence to do it again and again, etc. just don't think about getting laid like most guys do. get to know a girl and listen to her. the conversational ability will increase over time. trust me on this.

once you do want to flirt, ask her things she likes from a guy, and just compliment her. a little touching isn't too bad either, but don't over do it.

Do you flirt more with who you have feelings for or do you flirt more with friends?

for some reason, this doesn't make sense to me but i flirt more with my friends than with those i like.

i've always had a problem telling the people i like that i like them and i get very shy around them for the first few weeks..then gradually warm up to them and slightly flirt but its sooooo much harder to flirt with ones i like than with friends. i'm unbelievably flirtatious with my friends!
